Our mission

The Department of Prosthodontics is dedicated to excellence in education, patient care, research, and service. Our mission is to advance the art, science, and clinical practice of prosthodontics—including fixed and removable prosthodontics and the restoration of dental implants—through innovative teaching, evidence-based care, and interdisciplinary collaboration. We are committed to developing compassionate, highly skilled, and ethical dental professionals who restore oral health, function, and aesthetics, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life for the patients we serve.

Education

Our Department of Prosthodontics faculty provide preclinical and clinical training to our Doctor of Dental Surgery students in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics. Through didactic and clinical teaching, students receive the required knowledge and skills to fulfill the prosthodontic needs of patients. This includes performing basic fundamental prosthodontic procedures, including diagnosis, management and treatment of patients in need of reconstructive fixed prosthodontic care. Our faculty also coordinate prosthodontics treatment and provide support to patient care associated with our predoctoral and advanced education speciality clinics.

Research

Faculty in the Department of Prosthodontics are engaged in and committed to research focused on advancing oral health. Several areas of our focus include dental materials, dental implants and restorative dentistry.
